Traces of a forgotten past

Behind the walls of a house dating back to 1860, renovation work unearthed fragments of old wallpaper, buried under dozens of successive layers. Rather than let them disappear, I photographed these fragments and recomposed two patterns from these remnants - patiently reconstructing forms, rhythms, and colors from another era.

 A work of graphic memory as much as of creation, entirely done using Illustrator and Photoshop.
